Literacy

Literacy encompasses the areas of reading, spelling and writing. Children may have difficulty with:
- Identifying letters and their sounds
- Blending sounds to make words
- Reading single words, sentences or full texts
- Writing sentences
- Creating narratives, essays and information texts
- Reading information and answering questions about the text 

Speech Pathologists are trained to assist children with delayed literacy skills.
